Siri for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS is Available

Everybody knows what Siri is, and especially if Siri for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS is available. Well, Siri was successfully ported on iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS, even on iPod Touch 4G, and all this is possible thanks to the great work of developers from the jailbreak scene.
We have people like “chpwn” and “Steve Troughton-Smith” to thank to for Siri for iPhone 4 and Siri for iPhone 3GS, but we are now at the mercy of the rest of the developers to find a way to extract all the Siri files from the iPhone 4S IPSW file so that they can be successfully transported to the iPhone 4 and 3GS and all the rest of the iDevices that support iOS 5.
You see, Siri was made available only for iPhone 4S by Apple, as a marketing strategy, and distributing the Siri files from the iPhone 4S over the internet is piracy. Everybody knows, or at least everybody, that the developers of the iPhone Dev Team and Chronic Dev team are law abiding citizens, and will never promote or endorse piracy, and that;s why they have to find a way to extract the files straight from the IPSW file, because then everybody would be able to access them just by downloading the file from the Apple servers.
Siri for iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS is already available, but only if you already own an iPhone 4S so that you can transfer the files from one device to another. And what good would that do to you if you already own an iPhone 4S?
Take a look at the videos
below to see Siri working on iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS:

As you can see, we already have Siri for iPhone 4 and 3GS, we just need a way to extract the files, which is already a work in progress for all the jailbreakers out there.
I’d recommend you to bookmark this page, as it will be updated as soon as Siri can be installed on iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS by everybody.
UPDATE: You can now install siri on iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G using HiSiri
For those of you that are trying hard to find a way in order to install Siri on iPhone 4 i am glad to reveal that HiSiri can accomplish that. HiSiri is basically a tweak for jailbreakers and it permits users to install Siri’s GUI server connectivity on other devices such as iPhone 4.
However there is a catch, at the moment although Hisiri successfully helps you to install Siri on iPhone 4 it doesn’t connect the famous software to Apple’s servers, but you can however connect it to private servers offered by the jailbreak community.
Take notice that HiSiri is not an official support from Apple and it might still have some bugs or any other small issues. We just hope that Apple will reconsider and decide to finally release an official support in order to install Siri on other devices like iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS.
Stay tuned for more information and be the first to install Siri on iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS

How to get free Iphone Ringtones

To create custom ringtones using only iTunes:
  1. Right click on the song you are going to make into a ringer and select “Get Info.”
  2. Go to the options tab and go down to the “Start Time” and “Stop Time” check boxes. Check both boxes and input the time you want your ringer to start/stop. The ringer has to be 30 seconds or less. Click OK when you’re done.
  3. Right click on your newly “clipped” song and select “Convert Selection to AAC.” The song will be re-encoded using the start and stop times determined (If your menu item does not read “Convert Selection to AAC” and reads “Convert Slection to MP3″ (or some other format) please go to iTunes > Preferences > Advanced > Importing and change the “Import Using” drop down menu to “AAC Encoder”).
  4. After the song is done encoding navigate to your iTunes Music folder, locate your song, and drag it to your desktop. After the song is on your desktop go back to iTunes and delete the clipped version from you iTunes library (It won’t delete it from your desktop, it will only remove it from iTunes).
  5. Go back the song on your desktop and right click on your song and chose “Get info.” Go to the name and extension section and change the extension from .m4a to .m4r (or you can just change the extension right from your desktop)
  6. After the extension is changed simply double click on the file to add it to your iTunes library under the ringtones section. Sync your phone with iTunes and you’re done!

[tutorial] How To Downgrade From iOS 5 or 4.3.5, 4.3.4, 4.3.3, 4.3.2, 4.3.1

Recently, Apple has been cracking down on unauthorized iOS5 users. It has been determined that Apple has identified several developer accounts who broke their TOS by selling their UDID slots for a fee to iDevice users who wanted to try out the iOS5 beta firmware. Apple has begun shutting these developer accounts and if you are one of the people who purchased a UDID slot you will now notice that your device is nothing more than a paper weight.
Please follow the instructions below(Mac/Win) to downgrade from whatever iOS5 beta you are on back to 4.3.5 or 4.2.10(CDMA).
Step 1: Download iOS 4.3.5 or iOS 4.2.10
Step 2: Connect your device that is running iOS5 to your computer and turn it off.
Step 3: Put your device into DFU mode by holding down home and power for 10 seconds and then releasing power but continue holding home for another 10 seconds. If you have troubles, check out our DFU mode video tutorial.

Step 4: iTunes should detect a device in recovery mode and your screen should be black.
Step 5: Hold down shift(win) or option(mac) and press the "restore" button. Select the 4.3.5 or 4.2.10 firmware file you downloaded in step 1 and the downgrade will initiate. Once it is done, your phone will reboot and you will be back on 4.x firmware.

Will Siri only work on iPhone 4S? What about iPad?

Siri on iPhone 4S
During my pre-Apple days, I was already fascinated by a voice recognition program called Dragon Naturally Speaking.  I dabbled with it for a while but since the hardware needed to run the program was on the extreme side, I could say that I didn’t get what I expected from the program.  It was just too tedious to do: check that you have a powerful enough system, install the software, train the program for about ten years (just kidding) in a very quiet atmosphere so that it’ll learn your voice and words at the same time, further train it so that it can follow commands and then wait for the garbage to come out on the screen. Frustrating indeed!

Fast forward to the present and we see Apple presenting Siri to a captive audience during its recent media event and launch of iPhone 4S on October 4th. Sure, Apple has attempted to give voice recognition to its older releases of the iPhone, particularly the 3GS and the iPhone 4, but voice control for these iPhones is really just an experiment when compared to Siri, iPhone 4S’ exclusive Voice Assistant.
Still, I was a little bit disappointed with the release of iOS 5 that Siri has remained an iPhone 4S exclusive. As we all know, the iPhone 4S is powered by the same A5 processor used in the iPad 2. And the iPad 2 also has a built-in microphone – I’m wondering why Siri is not available my beloved iPad.
But before we go into that any further, let’s just check the existing state of Voice Control for the iPhone 3GS and 4. Right now, Voice Control for these devices just doesn’t function on either the iPad or the iPad 2 for the very simple reason that they would be totally useless. The presently available Voice Control on these older devices simply lets you control music playback, dial a contact number, start a FaceTime call, get some info about the currently playing music or get the time… Not much really. But the reason for this is that the older iDevices’ hardware is not powerful enough to handle anything more.
Now comes Siri with its myriad commands specifically designed for a powerful device such as the iPhone 4S.  So the iPhone 4S is announced with Siri in tow but why not for the iPad 2 which shares the same hardware as the newly announced iPhone 4S?  Everything presented during the Apple event – from setting up Reminders and posting Calendar events to searching for anything and everything in Wiki – all of these can be done using the iPhone 4S AND the iPad 2!
Perhaps Apple has reason which it chooses to keep a secret right now. Perhaps Siri’s usefulness must first be tested before Apple rolls it out to iPads. Anyway, all I know is I want SIRI on my iPad and I want it now!
If I can’t get Siri from Apple then I do know I can get it somewhere else…  You know how busy the jailbreaking community can be and it won’t be long before they come out with something like or even better than Siri for iPad.
