Is it “iPad HD” Instead of iPad 3?

March 7 is not very far now. It’s five days at best and speculations of the name of the device that Apple is going to launch / release is already ripe. Well, for us, it’s still the iPad 3 but several indications have now surfaced which seem to think otherwise. iPad HDSome tweet leaked the inventory at Griffin’s which makes high-quality case covers for iPads and other iDevices. The listing shows three occurrences of what is termed as iPad HD (3). So is the iPad 3 really called “iPad HD”? Perhaps.griffin-ipad-hdAnother popular case cover manufacturer, Belkin, has also been reported to have named the iPad 3 as the iPad HD.
There is this application called Tapatalk for the iPad, BlackBerry and other devices, whose usage data has been depicted by Gizmodo. The report there points out to a small percentage of the usage coming from what’s termed “iPad HD.” tapatalk-ipad-usageOf course, the data pointers could be changed easily so there’s no concrete proof that the iPad 3 is actually named iPad HD. As regards nomenclature, there has always been this time of intense speculation in every iDevice’s pre-release time span. We had discussions about the iPhone, about the iPad when it first arrived, and about other iDevices too (for instance, iTV).
The iPad HD naming claim comes with a supportive stance though. The most prominent of iPad 3 featuresis the dual-LED backlit display offering a HD display that far exceeds the Retina Display on iPhones. Could this answer the “iPad HD” nomenclature?
Other awesome iPad 3 features that have been constantly rumored are the A6 processor, enhanced cameras and LTE connectivity (which is highly anticipated).
The March 7 iPad 3 release date seems to have caught up with the entire fraternity now. If the iPad 3 is launched then, when would be iPad 3 release date? We can speculate that a full-fledged release might happen in mid-April or May depending on the demand and the supply chain segment.
Anyway, let’s all wait for the huge happening that will settle the name – iPad 3 or iPad HD!

tutorial : iPhone Home Button Not Working? – How to Fix It?

iPhone home button not working? Well, don’t worry. Quite a lot of people have the very same problem. Something seems to go wrong and both the single and the double-click functionality of the home button seems to be totally lost. When this happens first, one is easily prompted to press harder. Sometimes people just thing it’s the hardware problem and that the home button is gone for good. This may not be the case most of the times.
The problem might occur because of two reasons – one, the software may be faulty and two – this is the worst case scenario – the hardware might be faulty. If it is the latter, you definitely need to go to the Apple Center and get a new iPhone. If the problem is with the software – which it mostly is – one needs to try out the following methods.
A problem with the software usually is set right when you do a restoration of the iPhone OS. You can either do a restore from the backup, or do a complete restore in case you have not much data to worry about. Restoring from the backup or from scratch lets you reconfigure all your software settings so that whatever it is that was bugging the home button on the iPhone would go away.
However, some people have reported that both the types of restore does not bring the intended results. In that case, you’ll need to follow some other method. Here’s one more method which seems to work in favor of some iPhones. You could try it too.
  1. Open any application on the iPhone
  2. Press and hold the Power button till the ‘Slide to Shutdown’ screen appears.
  3. Now release the Power button and gently hold the Home button.
  4. In all probability, your Home button would start functioning normally again!
In the case that it fails to do so even after all this, you’ll definitely need to check out the hardware part. If you have just recently bought the device, then you get a replacement warranty so you can make use of that to get a new device quickly.
Update
In case your iPhone home button has become less sensitive or is even broken, iOS 5 has come up with the great solution named ‘AssistiveTouch’ feature. Assistive Touch is one of the accessibility features in iOS 5 that can be served as a workaround, if your iPhone home button is broken.
How to Enable Assistive Touch to Access Home Button from Screen in iOS 5:
Got to Settings -> General -> Accessibility. Scroll down to bottom and tap on “AssistiveTouch” option. Set it ON to activate the option.

After setting AssistiveTouch to ON, you will see a transparent round button at the bottom right of the screen. Tap on that round button to bring the touch menu.

You will find the Home button option that works just like as the physical home button.

Hope, latest iOS 5 AssistiveTouch feature will bring the intended results.

Is June Going to see the iPhone 5 Release Date?

Recent reports indicate that the iPhone 5 release dateis going to be in June of this year. Foxconn, the manufacturer which produces Apple products, has confirmed that the iPhone 5 production is on its way. Going by Apple’s typical six month turnaround the iPhone launch would be somewhere in June or July.

There have been sample devices but it hasn’t yet been confirmed which will be the final one as all of them have few common things that make it difficult to judge:
  • 4+ inch display (made by LG on at least one of them).
  • No teardrop-shaped devices, as rumored in the lead up to the iPhone 4S. Samples so far have been symmetrical in thickness (also longer/wider).
  • Neither of the sample devices have the iPhone 4/4S form factor.
  • Neither of the devices are the final versions.
The iPhone 4S production last year didn’t catch momentum until late spring. If we judge the iPhone release pattern of last year, that is, the summer/WWDC pattern, we can say it’s just five months wait to see the iPhone 5 come out in the market.

tutorial : How to Install Siri on iPhone 4 without Proxy

Okay, this time it’s no proxy, no routing through various channels or any of that complicated stuff. We’re talking about how to install Siri on iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G without proxy – with as simple as a jailbreak and a simple change in the Cydia repo. Here’s how to do that:
Install-Siri-on-iPhone-4-3GS
How to Install Siri on iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G Without Proxy:
Step 1: Jailbreak your iPhone 4. You can use Redsn0w to do that and we have already posted about it.
Step 2: Cydia would have been installed now. Launch it. You will have to add a repo source to the Source on the app.
Add repo.siriport.ru to the Source.
Step 3: Hit the App store on Cydia and Install Siriport app. Once you’ve installed it, reboot the iPhone 4.
Step 4: Now this is where it gets a bit lengthy. In order to get Siri working, you need an iPhone 4S certificate. You can get that by pointing your browser to siriport.ru/1.crt.
Now, email the certificate file to yourself – open your email and get the certificate. Once you’ve done that, reboot.
or
Open siriport.ru/1.crt link on safari, it will bring up a certificate installation window. Tap on install button.
Step 5: Now, just activate Siri. It might get a bit on your nerves here so be patient. Say, ‘Hi Siri’ and wait for a while. About 1-4 minutes.
Now, if Siri hasn’t yet responded, say it again. Wait. If it still doesn’t budge, you will have to reboot the iPhone 4. Try again.
For the moment, as we haven’t yet had the chance to test it, this is all we could get to you. With disclaimers in place, we’d like to tell you that the device on the video seems to have activated Siri perfectly fine. However, we can’t be held responsible for any damage that might occur on your iPhone 4S due to the steps above.
Siri had long been ported to other devices but the problem had been in the certification. In fact, even this iPhone 4S certification is still under questions because it can soon be figured out by Apple. Although Siri ports have been known to work well on iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G and even iPhone 3GS in a remote case, it looks like only now a publicly accessible and easily configurable Siri port has come to the fore.
Below is a video on how to install Siri on iPhone 4/iPod Touch 4G:

iPhone 4 Tutorial: Dealing With No Service

Here are some ways to troubleshoot when your iPhone 4 is getting no service.

iPhone No Service

The iPhone 4 is known for a number of different things, but taking great phone calls is not one of them. The iPhone 4 has come under fire since its first release because of iPhone antenna issues and dropped calls across the board. It is not uncommon to find the iPhone 4 with No Service listed where your "bars" should be, but the No Service phenomenon is one that is pretty common no matter what type of smartphone you are using. Here are a few tips for trying to fix the problem when your iPhone has No Service.

iPhone 4 Antenna

The reality is that there is a problem with the iPhone 4's antenna and you are not going to fix it easily. Instead you should try to troubleshoot these iPhone 4 antenna problems with the suggested methods. The easiest is to just use the duct tape on the side of the phone, or adjust how you hold the iPhone 4 so that you do not have a tight grip on the lower left hand corner. You should also use the free Bumper case that was offered to iPhone 4 users through an Apple scheme.

Troubleshooting

If you are not getting any service there are a few easy things you can start off trying. First, double check to see if your iPhone 4's Airplane

Mode is on, and if it is you will get No Service on your iPhone 4 even though it may not say No Service explicitly. You may have to wait several seconds, up to fifteen, after turning off Airplane Mode to find that you will have iPhone 4 service again. If that does not fix it try using the Sleep and Wake button once or twice to see if that repairs the service issue.
If you are seeing No Service independent of what you do on your iPhone 4 then you may be out of your general service area. This is less usual than it was in the earlier days of cell phones, but you still can get into regions where you lose service altogether. If this is consistent then you should contact AT&T to see your preferred areas and your data plan, but there is not much that you can do in the meantime to repair the No Service reading on your iPhone 4.

No Service and the 3G Network

There are often times when the No Service message on your iPhone can be caused by issues with the 3G network. There is an easy way to troubleshoot this and it is even recommended by AT&T. Start out by going into Settings and selecting General. From here go to the Reset option and then choose Reset Network Settings. This will prompt you for a password if you have already put one in place. Once you have reset the network settings then your iPhone will take a few minutes to restart. Once it has come back hopefully your phone and 3G network service will return. This is actually a similar process to what you would do for an unlocked iPhone.
